Moving into a new apartment means starting new services such as electric, cable, etc. Where I used to live, we got satellite service through Direct TV and I was able to get The Outdoor Channel by itself for $3 a month (aprox). The reason I got this channel is because of all the shooting related shows every Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after getting my TV service set up at the new apartment I discovered I didn’t get The Outdoor Channel. A quick call to Comcast confirmed I could get the channel, but only in a package with other sports channels for $17 a month. I politely refused and insisted that I only wanted the one channel. After being informed yet again that the only way to get the channel was in a package with others and there being no way to get it ala carte, I informed the CS rep that I wasn’t interested.
Why oh why, in the age of computer based everything, can I still not get the one channel I really wanted without getting a crap load of other channels I couldn’t give a rats ass about? I mean, “Madge” isn’t working down the street any more, manually plugging and un-plugging wires in a switchboard to connect my call, and copper wires have (for the most part) given way to fiber optics. Come on now, get with the program! It seems to me, that Comcast would stand to make more money if they gave their customers a little more choice in what channels they get, instead of trying to ram a programming package down our throats!
Color me distinctly, UNIMPRESSED!

I feel your pain. When I was cohabiting with the beautiful redhead, a TV addict, we had more cable channels than mere mortals could count. After the breakup, I decided broadcast TV was enough. Wrong. No Outdoor Chennel. My question is: Could this programming be available online? I admit I have not checked b/c of schedule constraints and other priorities. If any of us finds this content online, notice should be given.
