EAA Witness is Go!

I got the Witness back from the gunsmith a few days ago and was able to get up to the range this morning. All told I ran over 100 rounds through it without a single failure to feed. I’m pronouncing it cured.

Here’s the gunsmith’s notes (bolded items have been added by me for clarity):

“Opened throat on barrel and polished wider and deeper. Rim of cartridge would also catch on the extractor. Pulled extractor and it was peened flat in spots. Reshaped and opened extractor for easier feeding.”

Here is 40 some odd rounds of  Blazer Brass .45 ACP – 230 gn RN FMJ at 14 yards. I was shooting pretty fast, so don’t expect “one ragged hole” although the pistol is capable of that. The black circle is 6″ in diameter. The steel plates at the match are 8″ in diameter. I’m pretty sure I can hit them.

Here are 40 rounds of my handloads. 230 gn LRN at 14 yards.  Again, any misses are completely my fault.

I freaking LOVE this pistol!
