Where’s your proof?

This guy does nothing but regurgitate BC/Leftwing talking points and presents them as fact. He also provides no proof, making his assertions nothing but unsubstantiated allegations. I’ve been to a few gun shows in my life, and none of them are as he describes. Myself, I think he’s never actually been to one.

Extremists Using Gun Shows to Exchange Deadly Information

In Portland, Oregon the monthly gun shows at the large Expo Center that take place have become a recruiting grounds for extremists targeting immigrants or even recruiting for White Supremacist organizations. In addition, there is evidence that off-the-books, illegal gun sales often take place in the parking lot that sometimes involves illegal weapons of very lethal power being sold.

While gun shows have long been able to gain public acceptance by most believing that only peaceful hobbyists or collectors attend such events, a large part of the appeal of these shows was to an audience who sought to avoid background checks or gun licensing rules before many states sought to crackdown on this.

The fact of the matter is that many extreme political organizations use gun shows not to sell guns but to indoctrinate new members with their extremist views. And it could be a lethal combination to indoctrinate some into hate or extremism and offer them all the information they need on how to build bombs or other serious weapons.

He goes on to make allegations that books on making explosives, poisons and guerrilla warfare are for sale, along with Nazi paraphernalia. He implies the next Timothy McVeigh or Al Qaeda are browsing the gun shows in search of cheap weapons and devious knowledge. Extreme organizations also are apparently laying in wait at gun shows, looking to recruit and indoctrinate attendees.

One wonders if groups such as SAF, CCRKBA, GOA, JPFO, SAS and the NRA are the extreme organizations he’s talking about.

Much sound and fury signifying nothing.

  3. I went to a gun show on Sunday. There were a lot of veterans there, proudly wearing the tell tale markers of their service. There were military buffs, with handcrafted swords and old guns and the books of history that went along with. There were children with their Mom’s and Dad’s together, a family outing, sharing in the craftmanship of a piece of wood made into a piece of something tangible, listening to the stories of older generations happy to talk about their first tree blind, or when they carved a deer horn into a present for their Mom.

The only thing I was recruited into was a large Pepsi.

And you know, no one burned a flag. Like at some other gatherings I can think of.

  4. He’s also lying. Here in Oregon, it has been illegal to transfer a firearm at a gun show without a NICS check for a few years (thanks, McCain).

I’ve been to that show, and there is LESS “extremist paraphernalia” than almost any other show I’ve ever been to.

Evidence that guns are being sold in the parking lot? As in, the parking lot where there are security personnel patrolling, and most of the people walking around are going to other events (i.e. not the gun show), and would probably be completely freaked out by this?

Besides, political speech is protected. We all know the types of things he’s talking about - covered by the First Amendment - and I’m sure that any pro-gun political group is going to be an “extremist group” to this guy.

If you’re anti-illegal immigration, and you talk to people about the topic, you’re recruiting for an extremist group. Am I right?

So what we have here is a guy going to another event at the Expo Center and talking smack about the gun show because he’s against gun show and gun ownership (despite his quibbling on this subject). He’s also anti-convervative, and let’s face it, most of the people at a gun show are going to support things that the left will label as conservative.
