The Best States for Gun Owners

April 29, 2008 on 12:03 am | In Uncategorized |

Here is a listing of the best states for gun owners to live in, ranked in order of best to worst (as in golf, a smaller score is better). The list is based on the total score only. I stole this data from the Brady Bunch and it reflects the inverse of their rankings (PDF) for 2007. Hey, who’d have thunk it? It turns out they’re good for something after all.

With the exception of Wyoming and Montana not being on the top of the list, there’s no real surprises here. And as I expected, California is dead last.

  1. 2/3 of Virginia’s restrictions involve gun dealers, which isn’t the worst thing in the world. I’m far more excercised about the employer/college restrictions.

  2. You’re right, and that is something I didn’t take into account. I’ll do some more research on this and make an updated post.

  3. What is amazing is in Kingsman, AZ (1998)I walked down the street with a holstered side arm, stepped in to a pub and pulled my weapon and laid in on the bar, No one batted an eye, the bar tender strolled over and move it under the counter, when I was ready to leave (and your sober he will hand it back to you) but don’t try it in Phoenix, or some relocated Commiefornian will call SWAT on you. Although AZ. State law permits it, the cities are free to rule otherwise, and the liberials take full adventage of it.

  4. Hopfully if HB89 passes we will get a higher score. That is if the Gov signs it. (praying)
