I’m curious, what caliber is your carry gun?

I’ve listed a good selection of calibers and I apologize if I left anyone’s out. Just leave me a note in comments.

You are free to choose up to three answers, so choose wisely.

The poll will close on BAG (buy a gun) day, otherwise known as April 15th (tax day).

  1. I don’t think 38 special should be on the same line with 357 magnum/sig. The ballistics are too different. Just my opinion.

    But since I don’t carry .45 ACP since I traded my M1991A1 Commander off, then I just did the three that I still carry regularly.

    But since I’m getting a 1911 Friday or Saturday, I may need that selection after all…

  4. Don’t listen to those guys. It’s obvious that if you’re voting .38 special/.357 magnum, you’re practicing with the .38 and loading the .357. The only exception is if you’re carrying a compact .38 revolver in which a magnum round would be a control issue.
    Either way, you’re looking at a small revolver, which is an acceptable defining criteria.

  5. Jerry, that was what I was thinking when I made up the poll. I understand the ballistics are different though, perhaps it would have been better the other way. Next time I do a poll of this type, I’ll keep it in mind.

    I usually carry a 9mm Parabellum, but I will switch to a .357 Magnum when in a wilderness setting.

  9. Springfield XD45 (.45 acp) with a Charter Arms .38 snubbie as backup.

    My young wife carries a Springfield XD9 (9mm) with a NAA Guardian in .32 acp as backup.
