Light Posting
I’m on Spring Break right now visiting relatives, so posting will be light. I’ll try and keep an eye on things though.

Fitna by Geerd Wilders
I believe in the whole bill of rights and this includes the freedom of speech. This film has been removed from other sites because of death threats from the usual suspects. I think this is wrong. Some have classified this film as hate speech, which I find ironic because the speech in the film comes not from the author, but the subjects themselves. If it is hate speech, it would be important to pay attention where the hate is coming from.
Also, I am not anti-Muslim. I am not anti any religion. I am however against anything posing as a religion where the practitioners believe it is OK to kill other people because their invisible man in the sky told them to. If you are willing to live peacefully alongside me, no matter what your religion is, that’s alright with me.
Here then, is Fitna by Geerd Wilders. Please be aware this film contains strong, disturbing images and words. This means viewer discretion is advised, and it is probably not safe for work.
You have been warned!

Chat Room
I’m trying out a chat room for the site. Please let me know if you like it or not. Also, if you know of a good chat program I can upload and host on my server instead, don’t hesitate to tell me about it. I’d rather have more control over the chat room than I get with it hosted somewhere else. Free is best, cheap is alright… I can’t help it, I’m a cheap bastard.
Click here to go to the chat room. The chat room will open in a new window/tab.
Don’t drink, don’t smoke, what do you do?
Apparently I don’t even cuss that much either. Gosh darnit all!

I thought so!
Whose bright idea was it to put a padlock through the trigger guard again? *shakes head in disbelief*
Faulty rules blamed for gun’s firing
March 28, 2008
By Audrey Hudson - Inadequate handgun rules designed by Department of Homeland Security officials are to blame for last weekend’s accidental discharge of a pistol by a commercial pilot during landing preparations, a pilots association said yesterday.
“The pilot has to take his gun off and lock it up before he leaves the cockpit, so he was trying to secure the gun in preparation for landing, while he was trying to fly the airplane, too,” said David Mackett, president of the Airline Pilots Security Alliance. “In the process of doing that, the padlock that is required to be inserted into the holster pulled the trigger and caused the gun to discharge.”
The unnamed US Airways pilot, who was landing at Charlotte/Douglas (N.C.) International Airport, has been placed on leave by the airline since the incident.
This was the first report of a pilot’s gun being discharged on a plane.
APSA, an organization of pilots who lobby Congress on aviation security issues, said the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has refused to adopt standard carriage rules recommended last year by the Federal Air Marshal Service.
“We complained to DHS two years ago that this was an unsafe rule,” Mr. Mackett said.
Rather than carry the weapon on their person at all times, pilots must lock it up before opening the cockpit door, meaning pilots handle the gun as many as 10 times per flight, the association estimates.
Pilots who have completed training to become federal flight deck officers (FFDOs) and carry weapons must use a holster used primarily as a home child-safety lock. A padlock is inserted through the holster and trigger guard, but, if inserted backward, it can trigger the gun, pilots say.
“It’s a completely unsafe system unless it’s used in a static environment — in a bedroom with good light. But to try to balance a gun on your lap and padlock it while flying an airplane 300 miles an hour, sometimes in the dark, is not secure,” Mr. Mackett said.
Gregory S. Alter, Federal Air Marshal Service spokesman, said federal law prohibits carriage outside of the flight deck.
“The methods used by FFDOs to secure, transport and store their duty weapon are fully consistent with long-standing law-enforcement practices widely in use with many law-enforcement organizations,” Mr. Alter said. “Once the weapon-discharge investigation is complete, any lessons learned will be implemented.”
The Associated Press obtained photos of the damage to the exterior of the plane that showed a small exit hole below the cockpit window.
None of the 124 passengers aboard Flight 1536 from Denver on Saturday were injured. Airline officials said the Airbus A319 was removed from service after the incident and returned to flight status Wednesday.
…and We’re back.
Well, that was anti-climactic. Everything seems to be working fine right now. If you have any problems, don’t hesitate to let me know.

Upgrading, pray for me!
I’m about to upgrade from WP 2.3.3 to WP 2.5. Pray for me! It would really suck to have to redo everything since I’ve just got things working the way I want.

Help Needed
I’m working on a project right now concerning extreme things anti’s have said. Specifically, I am looking to counter the www.nraleaders.com site. This site is owned and run by the Brady Bunch as a way of trying to make the NRA look bad. Admittedly, the NRA has never needed help saying stupid things, but this site takes it too far. They take things so out of context that one is left with the impression that the NRA is composed of nothing but bigoted, racist, idiots with no moral compass. Like when they condemn the NRA for holding it’s annual meeting in Denver, CO right after the Columbine School Massacre. What they don’t say is the NRA is required by law to hold this meeting and it was already to late to cancel, as the members were already on their way. They also drastically scaled back the planned meeting to the bare bones. They did everything they could to show empathy for the situation and compassion for the victims of that horrible crime, but you’ll never hear that from the Brady Bunch.
Ah well…
So, if you have a choice quote from one of the other side, and can source it, post it in comments and the odds are good I’ll include it. Yes I can use Google as well as the next guy, but I want your favorite quotes, the ones that make you want to scream. I’m sick and tired of being pushed around and insulted by the anti-rights bigots (this very blog is a response to the other side) and I can’t let this injustice continue.
Thanks!
Ronnie Barrett’s Letter to Chief Correa
This letter was sent to Chief Boisse Correa of the Honolulu Police Department on 801 South Beretania Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, regarding the .50 caliber rifle ban that his department is aggressively seeking this legislative session.
Dear Chief Correa:
I am Ronnie Barrett, President of Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, Inc. In 1982, I invented a rifle and started producing it in my gravel-floor garage. Through hard work and financial risk, my company has grown into a brand that is known around the world for its products and services.
What began for me as a personal sport shooting rifle has evolved into one that is used by many sportsmen throughout the country, the United States military, law enforcement agencies and by nearly 50 American allied countries around the world.
Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, like all U.S. small arms defense contractors, has a combination of civilian, police and government defense sales in order to sustain its business life. This is the only way we can stand ready when products are needed in both peacetime and during war.
Simply put, the small arms defense industry in America would not survive if not for commercial sales, which are a significant part of our business. Unless the government is ready to bring back its manufacturing arsenals that were finally closed in 1968, it needs to guard and protect the privately-owned businesses that provide these essential products.
The act of a governmental entity banning commercial sales of legal firearms, such as my .50 caliber rifle, not only violates the basic principles of the United States Constitution, but also puts national security at risk by ending the delicate balance between the government and the private sector. Furthermore, it sets a precedent that endangers the future of other vital defense contractors.
How important is this particular rifle? In 2004, the United States Army named the Barrett M107 Rifle as one of the Top 10 Greatest Inventions for helping our brave service men and women do their jobs. The free enterprise system allowed me, a civilian sportsman and manufacturer, to perfect that rifle and get it into the hands of those who use it to defend freedom.
Light Posting Ahead
Guys and gals, I’m sorry if I don’t get much posted today. I was up late with some family issues and got to bed around 3AM. I then had to get up at 7:30AM to get my daughter off to school. Honestly, I’m very tired right now.
Plus, I’ll be gone on spring break (Mar. 31 - Apr. 4) to visit my sister and brother-in-law. I don’t know how much posting I’ll get done over the break, but I’ll try and check in as I’m able to.
I hope everyone’s having a great day! Mine started off crappy, and then it snowed all morning long before it got warm enough to melt it off. Gotta love that global warming!
