WOW it is so intersting to see how different things are for our neighbors up in the chilly north.
You know I was watching a program on one of the discovery channels about a manhunt. The fugitive ran when is car stopped into farm country. He found a farm that was vacant with a single shot shotgun with a box of shells. He took it and ran further to another residence where by he attempted to steal the guys truck, but he pulled a double barrel on him. The shotgun the criminal stole did not work and the citizen apprehended him, but lacking a phone he marched the fugitive to another’s home and had them call the “authorities.” They show up and immediately in the dramatic recreation of events had guns drawn on the citizen not the fugitive. I say WTF!
We are always treated like criminals. The most recent gun talk podcast had a individual from Pennsylvania on it discussing how the shreiff gave him heck for his firearm at a voting poll location, which is legal in that state. He won his argument with the officer, but then received a letter from the state saying his carry permit had been revoked because he was considered a danger. He won his court case, but the point is clear. We have to fight for our rights when we are not doing anything wrong, and for doing nothing wrong we are still immediately approached as if we are the worst criminal on the planet. I think this all needs to stop.
Agreed! I was listening to that same episode of Gun Talk. You should join us in the chat room during the show. There’s a group of great gunnies who meet there and chat while we listen to Tom Gresham. The link is down along the right hand side of my blog.
The guys story just pissed me off. The cops should know the law, and if the guy wasn’t breaking the law they should have left him alone. You can’t punish someone for something they might do, or because the cop doesn’t like what he’s doing. That’s not the way it is supposed to work in the USA.
What chat room???
I used to sign in before everything changed. Where is the GT chat room now?
Danno
Here’s the link, tell everyone you know! After Tom Gresham removed the link from his website, a lot of people could no longer find it. I and a few other “die hard” Gun Talk listeners chat there during the show.
