Marky Mark Wahlberg on Gun Control

I was hoping that Mark Wahlberg’s stance on Gun Control would have been moderated a little with age and education on the subject, but apparently not.

*sigh*

I want my free movie ticket back!

…clicky…

From the article:

“Wahlberg echoes the opinion his character, Bob Swagger, would probably have on gun control. (Someone obviously didn’t read the book! -Yuri)

“Well, I would love it if they could take all the guns away. Unfortunately, you can’t do that so you hope that good people in the world have them to protect the people who can’t protect themselves,” he says.

“Certainly, I haven’t used a gun anywhere other than on a movie set and I’d like to see if we could take them all away. It would be a beautiful thing.”‘

  1. As if he has the slightest idea of what he is talking about.

  2. Ignorance has never deterred the anti-gun crowd from expressing their (mis)guided opinion. Just look at Carolyn McCarthy. ;-)

  3. Mr. Wahlberg grew up in urban Massachusetts (the most liberal, ungodly, backward state in the country). Had he grown up in the Midwest or rural USA he would probaly be a proud gun owner, sportsman, and defender of the 2nd Amendment.

  4. Of that I have no doubt, but one would hope now that he is older, he be able to form an opinion based on facts and logic, rather than emotion and his youthful influences.

I have a sinking feeling, that a lot more people who grow up and will be growing up in our inflating cities will grow up apathetic or downright hostile to gun rights.

I hope it doesn’t come to that, but it seems to be the current trend.
